Job description

As a general farm laborer, the prospective employee will be performing soil tillage, planting, seed drilling, cultivation, irrigation, fertilizer application and harvesting duties on our organic farm. This work is seasonal from March 1 through December 10th due to the planting, growing and harvesting season at our location. These tasks are not performed in January and February due to weather limitations. Worker will be running farm tractors, farm implement equipment, applicators, cultivators, planters, harvest equipment and side by side utility vehicles and pickups. Maintaining operational pivot irrigation systems and additional, various farm tasks such as: cleaning, washing and organizing supplies and equipment, will be required as time or need arises. Assist and perform routine repair and maintenance on the equipment in operation.

Equipment: Tractors, Skid loaders, UTV, Applicator implement, Trailers, Pickups, Pivot Irrigation Systems, Truck

Crops: Corn, Rye, Soy Beans

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
