Job description

Perform manual labor. Workers will clear ground of rocks, sticks, and roots by hand and clear brush and trees. Manually weeding fields by hand/using hand tools & other farm tools. Workers will harvest, cut, and pick tomatoes, squash, pepper and Eggplant. Duties also include tying, pull and pile string, staking, pulling plastic, loading, and unloading stakes, cleaning, loading, and unloading harvested products, and pulling weeds. Workers will harvest vegetables in the field. Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil, applying fertilizers, transplanting, pulling weeds, raking, cleaning around shed area, thinning, or pruning crops, cleaning, grading, and packing harvested product. May repair fences and farm buildings and participate in irrigation activities. Workers may drive other workers from housing to worksites. OFLC Administrator publishes new AEWR rates yearly and we reserve the right to adjust our job order to the new published rate with the exception of decreases. Raises and bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker, at the employer’s discretion, based on individual factors including but not limited to, performance, experience, number of hours worked in the season, number of seasons worked with the company, adherence to work rules and ability to follow supervisor’s instructions.

Special Requirements

A valid Drivers' License required to transport workers to fields and grocery store. The employer may conduct a criminal background check on all new applicants for employment. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. Cell phone can only be used during breaks, emergencies, and communicated with supervisor when needed. Lifting requirement may have a range of 5-60 lbs. All tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no cost to the worker. Workers should expect periods of little/no work and hours/days will vary due to weather conditions beyond the employers control and daily hours may be extended due to planting and harvesting demands. Most of the workday is spent in agricultural fields and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold, humid, and other natural elements. Workers may stand in one place for long periods of time and must be able to climb, stand, sit, stoop,
