Job description
We are adding more work this year and bigger temporary projects as construction on buildings and grain handling equipment starting in the middle of March. The rest of the season is schedules as the previous year's season.
Starting in the beginning of May through July the workers will help getting crops in, prepare pastures for putting cattle in, repair bins and buildings. Driving trucks to deliver grain to market.
Starting in the beginning of August through September workers will be assembling and constructing, fixing grain bins using hand tools from May to the beginning of October. General farm construction work on buildings, corals and fencing. For this aspect they will use drills, saws, fencing tools, screw guns and nailers. Hand labor duties as needed. The work hours are 8am to 3pm Monday through Sunday and depending on the weather condition.
Starting in the beginning of October through December the workers will handle manure hauling. There are 2 separate work shifts. The first shift starts at 3 a.m. to 12 p.m. The second shift starts at 12
p.m. to 9 p.m.
The job consists of learning the operation of the pump tractor and pumping liquid swine manure from deep pit confinement barns to be used as fertilizer during the growing season: Workers will man the
tractor and load tanks as they come in to reload. Workers will check levels in the manure pit as needed. Workers will monitor the tractors on pump for agitation and loading. Workers will assist with set
up and tear down of pump system and power washing equipment when moving between barns and fields. Workers will be instructed to follow all safety and biosecurity protocols. Workers will help with
operating the power washing equipment when moving between fields. They will perform basic maintenance and repairs service on the pump and power washer equipment as needed with instructions
and help from the team. Workers will follow instructions and directions from supervisor on how to operate the tractor and manure tank for injecting liquid swine manure on farm fields. Workers will learn
to operate and monitor the tractors for the rate of manure application and documentation of the application. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and be available to work Monday
through Sunday. Beginning and ending times will vary depending on the weather condition. The job will require extensive sitting in tractor, potential to get dirty, pushing, pulling, basic mechanical ability
and tractor operation. While no formal training will be provided to the workers the workers will, from time to time, be given work duties and directions by their supervisors, who will also answer any
questions they may have, including but not limited to the manner in which a particular duty is to be performed. Drug/alcohol-free work zone. Workers after hire, may be required to take a random drug
test at no cost to the worker. Workers are required to have driver's license Class C to drive provided transportation between off-site-housing and the work place at no cost to the workers.
