Job description
Perform cleaning and sanitizing duties in guest, office and/or public areas to assure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for guests. Duties include: Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash/rubbish, etc.; May include cleaning of guest room kitchen area, room refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, cups, glasses, silverware, etc.; Greet and acknowledge guests; Notify supervisor when service is complete so rooms may be sold or occupied. Report any room unable to be serviced to supervisor according to established procedures; Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions; Follow established safety procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incident, security breaches, concerns or suspicious behavior to the supervisor or manager on duty; Respond to guest complaints, special requests and take action to ensure guest satisfaction; Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping; Report, turn in, and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures; Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service; May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects; May have turndown duties.
Special Requirements
ability to lift 40 lbs
This position requires standing, sitting, walking and/or running for extended period and/or majority of the shift. This position requires moving, lifting, carrying pushing, and pulling objects weighing less than or equal to forty (40) pounds. This position also requires frequent reaching overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
The days and hours of work will vary depending on scheduling but will generally be five (5) days per week with rotating days off. Typical shifts are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Hours per week will vary with business levels but will generally be 40 hours per week with some occasional overtime. The Otesaga Resort Hotel is open 7 days per week and weekend work will be required.
