Job description

Commercial maintenance landscaping laborers will perform the following job duties; ground preparation for sod, lay sod, plant small trees and shrubs, plant plants and flowers in flowerbeds and other green space areas, fertilize sod, plants, and flowers using pre-mixed and bagged fertilizer to maintain healthy plants, trees, and turf, dig trenches for sprinkler lines, repair sprinkler lines, replacement of sprinkler heads, startup irrigation system, and construction or installation of hardscape areas which includes compacted gravel patios, deck areas, pathways, and small pre-casted pavers for walkways. Basic landscape equipment such as walk behind trenchers, skip steers, riding lawn mowers and hand tools to include shovels, hoes, rakes, back-pack blowers, hand grass trimmers, pruning shears, and shrub trimmers. Tasks may include construct or repair mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Commercial maintenance landscaping services include maintenance and upkeep of outdoor space through mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing outdoor features of a commercial or business spaces, public, or private open spaces to include schools or similar types of properties or multi-family properties. Commercial maintenance usually begins with an annual contract, spelling out the terms and responsibilities of the maintenance and includes days of the week that the maintenance may take place to avoid interference with property workflow or high traffic times of commerce.
