Job description
Monitors fishmeal/oil plant operation lines from the control room and processing area to ensure optimum utilization of the plant and quality of the fishmeal according to specifications.
Adjusts pump speeds and auger speeds to safeguard product quality. Takes proper action to ensure equipment is operated correctly to produce the proper/required quality for fishmeal and fish oil as directed by Fishmeal Manager. Ensures fishmeal/oil plant equipment is maintained and operated according to manufacturer’s recommendation at all times. Equipment includes pumps, motors, decanters, dryers, screw press and evaporators as well as electronic control panels. Ensures compliance with applicable sections of the Safety Management System. Is knowledgeable and conversant on applicable company
operating and safety policies and procedures. Performs moisture analysis tests on fishmeal and reports findings as appropriate. Demonstrates competence, knowledge and understanding of steam systems. Surveys amount of raw materials in silos to confirm correct flow into plant. Supervises the startup and shut down of process line machinery to ensure compliance. Participates in daily maintenance tasks as well as performs maintenance on the plant during shipyard. Supervises and trains all fishmeal workers in all aspects above. Provide feedback to Fishmeal Manager if performance or recommendations for improvement and/or additional training need to be addressed. Provides fishmeal and oil production and quality reports per company requirements.
Special Requirements
Proficient computer skills including MS Suite, Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages.
Able to communicate effective in English, both verbally and in writing. Strong attention to detail. A self-starter who is motivated and able to meet operation deadlines. Able to lead and direct the work of others. Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment or process failures and apply solutions.
Days/Shifts may vary
Transportation to and from the worksite will be provided at no cost to the worker.
Employer reserves the right to pay a higher wage rate or bonus to any worker in their sole discretion, based on performance, skill, tenure, or experience.

Up to 80 hours of overtime available per week, as needed.
Two shifts: 6:00am -6:00pm OR 6:00pm - 6:00am
Employer housing is available on vessel at no charge to the worker.
