Job description

Workers will perform duties associated with and directly to strawberry harvesting. Work will include but not limited to picking and packing strawberries, weeding,
thinning plants, in the field for fresh market & process market. Workers are required to distinguish the quality and ripeness of the strawberry and place it in a tray/container in the fields. Wen the containers are packed they will be place on the side of the row crop, stacked for trucks to pick up and delivery. work requires walking, repetitive bending and repetitive wrist movement. Worker must be able to lift 50lbs. The weather is moderate to cold. Workers must have at least 1 month of experience. All tools necessary for picking and performing duties will be provided.

Weeding activity is done 1-3 times throughout the season year with about a total of 4 hours a day for about 2-3 days, in consists of workers walking in a standing position thru row crops that are well above ground lever about 24-26 inches in height, with a cutting tool in hand (scissors ,clippers or knife) which ever employee feels more comfortable with, once worker identifies a runner growing out of the plant, the worker will cut the runner off the plant an continue walking. All tools, gloves will be provided to employee.

This work will be performed in accordance with California Code Regulations at Title 8, Section 3456, and safety industry standards.

Special Requirements

Workers must have at least 1 month of strawberry picking experience, training will be provided in some instances but only for 7-10 days. In this training workers will be shown how to identify ripened strawberries and company packaging requirements.
