Landscape Laborer

Job description

The Landscape Laborers will perform the following tasks on a daily basis: Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears or pruners. Plant grass, shrubs or trees, and apply mulch for protection. Install drainage systems. Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment, including lawnmower (walk behind and rider), backpack blower, wheel barrel, broom, rake, shovel, spade. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks which may include a combination of the following: sod laying, planting, watering, digging, aerating, seedings, weeding, mulching and raking. Our Landscape Laborers must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs (up to 120 lbs - 2 person job). These duties are consistent with those detailed in the USDOL Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code for Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers. Note that tree maintenance is performed only from ground level or from a 10’ step ladder, max height.

Must be willing to work weekends when necessary, depending on weather. OT may be available but is not guaranteed. Employment is 40 hours per week, shifts will generally be 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Special Requirements

Must be able to perform physical activities such as: lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials use static strength to exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 120lbs (possible 2-person). Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
