Job description
***RFI Response***
Commercial landscaping projects include commercial buildings;
1. Stamped concrete uses specially-made stamps to imprint the look and texture of stone,
brick, tile, and even wood into a concrete slab. Concrete stamps are a type of mold that
press hard into a slab as it’s drying. The concrete retains the mold’s look and texture
when the stamp is removed. Color can also be added to create a more natural appearance.
The purpose of stamped concrete is to make a regular concrete slab look like it’s made of
another material. The most common stamps are brick, flagstone, and tile. Stamps come in
a variety of sizes and styles. They’re primarily used to form flat-work like driveways,
pool decks, walkways, and steps.
2. Stamped concrete is also called textured or imprinted concrete. Because it’s an artistic
way to imprint concrete without the cost of the concrete being finished or smoothed out,
not all masons will do it. The stamps must be applied to the concrete while drying but
before it hardens. The timing has to be just right. If the stamps are applied too early, the
concrete won’t retain the shape of the mold. Apply them too late, and the concrete will be
too hard to press the forms into.
3. The main benefits of stamped concrete are looks and price. Using stamps, you can make
a concrete slab look like real stone or brick. But for a lot less money. On average, a
stamped concrete slab is at least 25% less expensive than using real brick, stone, or
pavers.
4. Stamped concrete is a great way to bring the high-end look of stone, brick, or wood to
patios, pool decks, driveways, walkways, and stairs while retaining concrete’s durability,
weather resistance, and price.
5. Stamped concrete is used in commercial buildings such as hospitals, restaurants,
manufacturing facilities, or other commercial buildings where owners want a high-end
look without the cost of finishing concrete, using pavers, wood, or cobblestone.
6. Tools used for stamping concrete include stampable overlays, texture sleaves or rollers,
texture trowel, vertical texture skin, hand tamper, color hardening, liquid or powder
release agents cure and seal, stamp tamper, touch-up wheel, chisels, and texture shoes.
Workers will also use edgers, lawnmowers, and wheelbarrows to cut around lawns an
edge around the concrete so that the stampable overlays can be pushed into the concrete
once the concrete has been poured and is not hardened. Workers will then press the
stamps into the concrete and remove then stamps to give the look of stone, wood, or other
artistic looks. The concrete is then sealed with a spray-on liquid membrane.
7. Concrete stamping is used in landscaping projects to give a high-end look without the
cost used in yards or frontage areas of buildings.
***Original F.a.2***
Workers will pour concrete and treat concrete in a variety of ways to increase its aesthetic appeal. Various materials are used to produce decorative concrete, and the characteristics of these are in achieving color and texture. These materials include: - Color hardener: Provides unique color coupled with a very durable surface. - Integral color: Can be used for practically any application and texture. - Chemical stain: Chemical stain creates artfully uneven, variegated, or translucent color much like that of natural stone. Workers will work on commercial and residential projects such as porches, pool surroundings, and pathways. Workers will prepare the ground to pour the concrete with the right consistency and colors, allowing concrete finishers to complete the projects. Once the ground is prepared and workers guide the concrete pouring, they will move to the next project while other workers finish the project. Workers will use various tools such as shovels, concrete mixers, rakes, wheelbarrows, and other equipment traditionally used in the landscaping industry. A majority of the work completed will be landscaping projects for residential and commercial clients
