Job description
Validate compliance of contractors’ commissioning process and procedures. Oversee Permit to Work management system and determine whether to allow technician work in HV hazards environment. Manage HV Switching of the Offshore Windfarm and operate interim control room according to dispatching rules. Determine whether to authorize specific works according to the Electrical Safety Rules authorization process. Determine whether to authorize, reception and management of Main Electrical Equipment according to Lock Out-Tag Out rules. Oversee operations and electrical activities for the purpose of safety, technical, contractual compliance. Responsible for switching, isolating and issuing Safety Documents for works at the Substations and WTG’s. Manage and resolve outages to minimize outage duration and impact on production during interim control room period. Manage both planned and forced outages and derates including timely entry into ISO-NE outage management system and notification of all required parties. Coordinate communication outages to circuits, SCADA, relay equipment or other communications means with Grid Operator Facility.
Special Requirements
Valid certificate from a manufacturer, employer or professional association for competency for offshore windfarm operation control; safety from system & EMSR; site HVSR 66kV & 220kV or 400 kV; contractors' commissioning process; switchgear oversight; Permit to Works safety; HV Switching; Nebosh.
2 years of experience with operational control aspects of an offshore windfarm; and with implementation of Safety from the System and EMSR procedures plus 6 months of experience with validating compliance of the contractors commissioning processes and procedures and 6 months experience in an authorizing engineer role delivering required training and authorization to senior authorized persons (SAPs).
