Tree Trimmer/Climber - Temporary full-time positions available with Crescent City Tree, LLC in Kenner, Louisiana. Responsible for climbing, pruning, and removing trees on residential and commercial properties. Use sophisticated climbing and rigging techniques, cut away dead or excess branches from trees or shrubs to maintain right-of-way for roads, sidewalks, or utilities, or to improve appearance, health, and value of tree. Prune or treat trees or shrubs using handsaws, hand pruners, clippers, and power pruner. Work off the ground in the tree canopy and may use truck-mounted lifts. Properly prepare, maintain, and safely operate all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and climbing gear. Six (6) months verifiable experience as a Tree Trimmer/Climber is required. No minimum education required. No on-the-job training provided. Higher pay may be available to workers with extensive experience. Employment will take place at 2310 Salem Street, Kenner, LA 70062 (truck and equipment yard for Company) and multiple worksites within Jefferson, Orleans, and St. Charles parishes (Same Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)). Employer will offer daily transportation to and from the worksite from a centralized designated pick-up place at no cost to workers. Use of this transportation is voluntary. Employer provides incidental transport between job sites. Must lift/carry 75 lbs., when necessary. Employer will offer 40 hours/week; M-F 6:30AM to 3:00PM. Saturday work required, when necessary. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours. Overtime Hours will vary and are not guaranteed. Although not required, employees may take a bona fide meal period for 30 minutes on a daily basis at no charge to the employee. The employee will be paid every week (Friday) via check from the employer. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. Employer will provide, without charge, company-specific uniform (t-shirt) and all tools, supplies and equipment necessary to perform duties assigned. Post-hire employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers at random, upon suspicion of use, and post-accident. No requirement that the employee must live on the employer's premises. If needed, employer will assist in arranging optional worker-paid lodging for hired foreign and non-local U.S. workers.
