Job description
Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with one hour for lunch. Duties include inspecting, maintaining, cleaning and repairing farm equipment and machinery. Building, pens, yards, and fences and/or participation in irrigation activities. Feeding, watering, grazing, catching, weighing, cleaning and loading animals and fowl. Driving trucks, tractors and other equipment to distribute feed to animals. Moving farm equipment, birds, and/or animals from one location to another manually or using trucks or carts. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work in labor intensive working conditions, walk, stoop, bend, reach, and kneel repetitively for long periods of time. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the ¾ guarantee over the life of the contract. All work tools, supplies and equipment are provided at no cost to workers. No experience or education necessary, employer will train. After the worker is hired, the worker may be required to take a random drug test that will be paid for by the employer, at no cost to the worker, as part of fitness for duty and workers safety. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random drug testing may result in immediate termination from employment. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract. Regarding the post-hire drug test, please note that this job opportunity involves working with farm equipment, vehicles, and farm machinery including tractors, bush hogs, trackhoes and ATV’s. Work is completed over a range of 3000 acres in a remote environment. Worker safety objectives would make the reasonable basis for post-hire drug testing as part of fitness for duty and safety assurance in a remote environment.
