Job description
Irrigators will be responsible for moving and maintenance of wheel lines, pivot maintenance, flood irrigation and irrigation system maintenance. Wheel line moving and maintenance involves moving wheel lines twice a day, making sure all sprinklers are working properly and no there are no leaks in the system. Pivot maintenance involved unplugging sprinklers and checking for flat tires on the pivots. Flood irrigation involves moving water through canals and ditches using shovels and pumps. General maintains of all equipment which involves greasing equipment and check engines fluids daily. Irrigation system maintenance involves spraying ditches to remove weeds and driving backhoes, dump trucks and other equipment to maintain the canals and ditches. Irrigators may be asked from time to time to work in other areas of the ranch which is shorthanded. These jobs may include running equipment for harvesting. Workers are working to directly irrigate farm crops of Alfalfa, Grains and Wild Rice. Workers should have 3 months of previous crop irrigation experience.
