Job description

Lead farm crew with daily harvests and post harvest washing and packing in the packing shed.
Daily record keeping around crop availability and harvest yields.
Manage farm crew - set pace, keep momentum in the fields, conduct quality control checks, and oversee all workers so that jobs are done correctly and thoroughly.
When necessary, initiate performance/conduct review reports - specific reasons for issuing a report would include: attendance policy violations, poor work performance, or harassment of fellow workers.
Assist in set-up and use of irrigation in fields, greenhouses, and hardening off area.
Assist farm crew with seeding, transplanting, weeding, and harvesting throughout the season.
Assist in loading and unloading of produce from the harvest area to the packing shed and onto transportation vehicles.
Drive crew to and from daily worksites.
Possess ability to operate tractors and forklifts.
Possess ability to analyze and solve problems efficiently as they arise.
Must be able to fill-in for shifts in case crew illness or emergency.
Must be able to ensure team maintains clean and organized facilities.
Applicants must posses 6 months previous, verifiable experience in crew leadership as it is necessary for the safety of the crew and viability of the produce. Applicants must possess a valid drivers license and be fluent in English and Spanish.

Special Requirements

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.
