Job description
Custom application of agronomy products on customer's farms;
Anhydrous ammonia, Dry fertilizer, *Liquid fertilizer & crop protection products, *Requires a State of Iowa Commercial Applicator Certification including the Core
Exam, 1A, 1B, & 1C certifications)
Agronomy product tendering to custom application equipment (Requires a Class A CDL with tanker & hazmat endorsements); Anhydrous ammonia, Dry fertilizer,
Liquid fertilizer & crop protection products.
Agronomy facility mixing & loading operations & maintenance of (Preparing & loading of products going to customer's farms; maintaining the facilities); Dry
fertilizer facilities, Anhydrous ammonia facilities, Liquid fertilizer & crop protection product (CPP) facilities, Annual testing & documentation of CPP containers,
Filling & cleaning of bulk CPP containers Calibrating, cleaning, and repair of CPP container pumps.
Delivery of agronomy products to customers; Anhydrous ammonia, Bulk & packaged CPP, Dry fertilizer carts, Seed.
Preventative maintenance & repairs on and delivery of agronomy rolling stock used by customers; Anhydrous ammonia toolbar applicators, Anhydrous ammonia
nurse tanks, Dry fertilizer carts, Liquid fertilizer trailers, UAN toolbar applicators.
Cleaning & maintenance on weighing devices used to weigh product going to customers.
Preventative maintenance & repair of grain handling equipment & storage facilities utilized by customers.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Pesticide licensure is required and will be provided at no cost to the worker. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers' expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment.
