Farm Equipment Mechanic & Service Technician

Job description

Mechanics must be able to:
• Rebuild a diesel engine, put piston/sleeves/bearings in an engine, replace fuel injectors, diagnose engine problems on semi-trucks and Case IH ag tractors, rebuild heavy duty transmissions on semi-trucks
• Preform a complete overhaul on a diesel engine, time diesel engines, change a heavy-duty clutch on a semi-truck
• Work on PTO systems (Power Take Off) systems, planting and tillage equipment, jake breaks
• Harvest preparation includes preparing equipment, trucks, trailers, tractors, harvesters and field equipment
• Operating farm machinery including trucks and tractors
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver any weight above 50 pounds with assistance on a regular basis.
• Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions

Special Requirements

2) The job opportunity requires 12 months of Agricultural Equipment Maintenance. The job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. The job requires being reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling obligation.

4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 50lbs.
4f) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
4g) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools.
4h) May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time.
4i) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as harvest preparation.
4j) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties.
