General Farm Worker

Job description

Performs duties related to planting, cultivating and harvesting ginseng, horticultural specialties, and field crops. Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears and knives. Duties may include tilling soil and applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops; applying pesticides; cleaning, grading, sorting, packing and loading harvested products. May construct trellises and ginseng shade structures, repair fences and farm buildings or participate in irrigation activities. Pick weeds, berries and ginseng. Dig water ways by hand.

Equipment: Tractor, Skidsteer, Sprayer, Shredder, Post pounder, digging equipment, loader backhoe, Forklifts

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
