Job description
Workers will assist with all aspects of general farm labor and packing shed labor such as: crop production, crop
maintenance and shipping functions as well as general maintenance of the premises during MGI’s season from
approximately May 10, 2023 through July 19, 2023. A list of all vegetables, herbs, fruits, and greens include: kale,
strawberries, peppers, oregano, dill, thyme, rosemary, tomatoes, greens, zucchini, cucumber, chives, basil,
peppermint, spearmint, green beans, squash, chards, sage, citronella, spinach, cilantro, asparagus and variety of
flowers. Staking plants, stringing plants, pruning plants, packing produce, sorting vegetables, cleaning fields of
weeds and debris, pulling tape, pulling stakes, stringing plants to stakes, staking fields, laying down plastic in fields, moving farm tools and equipment in fields, planting, grading, and stacking produce.

2 DAY TRAINING WITH EMPLOYER.
The training period for all crop activities is 2 days starting with the first day of employment to
acclimate the worker to the physical demands of farm work and to familiarize workers with the job specifications and to demonstrate
proper harvest methods and other crop specific issues. Workers may plant by hand, seed plant trays, clean and wash plant trays, apply water and fertilizers to plants in trays, clip and mow plants, load plant trays onto trucks and wagons, load plant trays onto equipment for setting, stack and remove trays from fields, prepare fields for planting, may reset missing plants by hand, pull weeds from plants, break tops & bad leaves from plants, prune plants, take cuttings from plants, discard bad or dead plants. Grade vegetables, stack produce, stake plants, remove stakes from plants, string plants, clean fields of debris, pick tomatoes and other vegetables, plant
