Job description
Workers will perform several manual tasks, for 9 months the following duties are done at T & L Cattle Company in Early, Texas.
Beginning May 5th, workers prepare pastures and plant grasses and oats, for feed and for new coming in cows to graze on. In June- Cattle arrive at the ranch, 25 Cows in gestation will begin calving during summer and need vaccinations and
observance of diseases that can develop after birth for 2 or 3 hours. this is done with the 25 cows until all calves are vaccinated and ear tagged bathe and help the cow in order to assist both cow and calf. Summer heat may be hard on baby calves because they can dehydrate readily in milk and other bacterias that can cause disease. Clean and Desinfect is another duty while attending the Calving Season. Summer calving from 60 to 90 days. beginning September through the fall months weaning begins calves are now in less need of milk more grains and hay are fed on during the December through Feb. Calves are put in barns and sold to customers, cows by this time and point are at their at 7 months gestation and are waiting to calve again in the month of May. Other jobs are performed repairing fences, stiring hay and grains for feed preparation. During March and April temporary workers are not necesary at the T & L Cattle Company.
