Farm Worker - Strawberry Harvest

Job description

Workers will perform duties associated with and directly to strawberry harvesting. Work will include but not limited to picking and packing strawberries, thinning plants, in the field for fresh market & process market. Workers are required to distinguish the quality and ripeness of the strawberry and place it in a tray/containers in the fields. Wen the containers are packed they will be place on the side of the row crop, stacked for trucks to pick up and delivery. work requires walking, repetitive bending and repetitive wrist movement. Worker must be able to lift 50lbs. The weather is moderate to cold. Workers must have at least 1 month of experience. All tools necessary for picking and performing duties will be provided.

Special Requirements

Workers must have at least 1 month of strawberry picking experience , training will be provided in some instances but only for 7-10 days. In training workers will be shown to identify ripened strawberries and company packaging requirements. If training is required for prospected workers with no prior experience in picking strawberries, We will train workers how to identify ripped berries and how to properly package strawberries. This training will be done in normal working hours at the beginning of employment.
