Job description
General supervision of Farm laborers/vineyard workers/packinghouse workers to ensure jobs are completed in accordance with company policies, communicate with employer about daily work needs and report issues to employer.
Farm Supervisor: Worker in supervisor position will provide supervision to crew members in the farm laborer/vineyard worker and packing house worker positions. Worker must be able to adapt between different field and packing house supervisory responsibilities within the workday. Worker will be required to effectively communicate with other supervisors, workers, Employer and other farm personnel and will be required to fill out forms in English or Spanish.
Worker will be expected to identify disease and pest problems in the field as instructed and report to a manager or Employer.
Worker must be familiar with Employer food safety policies, work rules and housing rules. Worker will assist Employer in completing housing inspections for employer-provided housing as needed. Worker must identify, address and notify Employer of any violations of employment policies. Supervisors are required to train, coach and discipline farm laborers/vineyard workers/packinghouse workers who fail to follow Employer rules and/or policies. Supervisor will be subject to progressive discipline process for failing to train, coach and/or discipline laborers/vineyard workers as required. Supervisor will be required to report farm worker absences or separations from employment to Employer immediately.
If worker is eligible to drive, worker may drive in Employer-provided vehicles to and from the worksite and to locations within 30 miles as directed. Worker must understand and agree to driving rules, as outlined in work rules below, and must provide proof of no infractions from official source. Worker may be required to operate farm vehicles to move between fields.
Pay will be hourly.
Special Requirements
Experience Requirement: 3 verifiable months commercial vegetable experience required. Applicants must furnish job references from recent employers establishing acceptable prior experience from within previous 5 years.
Drug testing may be required if worker is involved in workplace injury resulting in damage to property or injury to others. Worker agrees to testing as a condition of employment. Testing done at employers expense and not utilized as a pre-employment tool.
Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for and worker agrees to work every day that work is available for entire employment period.
Worker must be able to perform job description duties in safe manner consistent with established safety procedures.
