Equipment Operator

Job description

Workers will operate and maintain farm equipment and vehicles including (but not limited to) Combines, Cotton pickers, Grain Elevators, Sprayers, Tractors and other row crop machines. Workers will operate equipment to cultivate, harvest and seed row crops of Corn, Cotton, and Grain, load and unload trucks and grain elevators. Workers must possess 6 months of previous, verifiable equipment operation experience.

Workers are expected to possess the skills to work in the production of crops or agricultural commodities listed in this job order. The introductory period for all crop activities is 2 days starting with the first day of employment to acclimate the worker to the physical demands of the job and to familiarize workers with job specifications and to demonstrate proper methods and crop or commodity specific issues. Work may be performed in high humidity. Must be 18 years of age or older. Employer is a drug-free workplace. Drug testing is conducted post-hire at the employer's expense and is not part of the interview process. Work requires frequent stooping or bending, and repetitive movements. Workers my stand in the upright position and work on feet for extended periods of time.

Special Requirements

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.
