Job description

Farm Equipment Operator 1- Job Description:
Operate and maintain various types of farm equipment. Perform routine maintenance and repairs to farm equipment and ensures equipment is in good working condition and adheres to all applicable safety rules.

Operate Tractors, Combines, Wagons, and other farm equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Operate tractor and other farm equipment for harvesting of organic and conventional crops

Assist mechanics with repairs.

Grease and check hydraulic fluids daily.

Drive vehicles to haul crops, supplies, farmworkers, tools.

Follow all applicable safety procedures.

Will not over haul motors or equipment

The Employer attests that all workers will be properly trained in the Worker Protections Standard (WPS) by qualified WPS trainers who have completed an EPA-approved Train-the-Trainer course pursuant to the Oregon Department of Agriculture

Special Requirements

2) Worker must possess 3 months of Farm Equipment Operator experience.
4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 60 lbs.
4g) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. 4h) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheel barrows, containers, etc.
4i) May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time while sorting, picking, examining, weeding, transporting, pruning, etc. 4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as weeding, irrigating, pruning, picking, removing debris, etc.
4k) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example picking, sorting, pruning, shoveling, weeding, etc.
