Berry Harvester

Job description

Use the picking machine to pick berries, changing out boxes when full for a new, empty box. Stack full boxes properly for transfer. Warehouse duties include dumping berries from the full boxes on to the belt line. Must remove all bad/spoiled berries then stack the finished product, securely wrap the pallet, and have ready for storage.

Workers will have various duties around the farm throughout the season including working the picking machine or working in the warehouse. All work is interchangeable and essential to the harvest and farm.

Employer operates all worksites and all work is done on the farm.

Special Requirements

MUST HAVE ALL TEN FINGERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN EXTREME TEMPERATURES, INCLUDUNG 100+ DEGREE WEATHER.
WORKERS ARE PROVIDED A TWO-DAY BREAK-IN PERIOD TO ACCLIMATE TO THE DEMANDS OF THE JOB.
WORKERS MUST BE PHYSCALLY FIT TO PREFORM JOB DUTIES WITHOUT SUCCUMBING TO EXCESSIVE EXHAUSTION AFTER BREAK-IN PERIOD.
WORKERS WILL BE PROVIDED SAFETY TRAINING AND WILL BE EXPECTED TO HANDLE TOOL/EQUIPMENT SAFELY AND CAREFULLYSO AS TO AVOID CROP DAMAGE AND PROTECT THE WORKER FROM POTENTIAL INJURY. MUST REPORT TO WORK SOBER.
MAY BE SUBJECT TO AND MUST PASS POST-EMPLOYMENT, EMPLOYER-PAID DRUG TEST.
WORKERS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL POSE A SAFETY THREAT TO THEMSELVES AND OTHER WORKERS AND CUASE LIABILITY FOR THE EMPLOYER.
