Job description

Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables and field crops. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes,
tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil, laying plastic mulch, and applying
fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops; cleaning, packing, and loading harvested products.
May repair/maintain fences and farm buildings, keep barns and packing facilities in good clean and sanitary
condition. Participate in irrigation activities. Field clean up at the end of harvest.
Workers will operate up to a 100HP farm tractor to complete job duties.
Workers will operate a UTV/ATV farm vehicle.
Crops included in the above activities include but not limited to: Sweet Corn, Melons, Tomatoes, Green Beans,
Squash, cucumbers, Peppers, eggplant, okra, pumpkins, gourds, sweet potatoes, potatoes, broccoli, cabbage,
cauliflower, greens, ornamental corn

Special Requirements

The drug screen will be conducted pre-employment at the employer's expense. The drug screen will consist of a standard 5 panel urine test. It will screen for marijuana, opiates, cocaine, phencyclidine, methamphetamines and amphetamines. A negative test result must be obtained before employment can begin. Workers will be operating and working around farm equipment and machinery, as well as handling harvesting knives and clippers. Any type of drug impairment can create and unsafe and dangerous work environment for the impaired worker as well as other workers in the vicinity of the impaired person.
