Construction Laborers

Job description

Job requires workers to construct and repair farm greenhouse structures.

Tasks the worker must be able to perform to construct complete structure set up for new/additional greenhouses include digging holes, setting up posts, installing bended poles, tie bolts, fan motor installs, and plastic curtains. Groundwork involves digging, shoveling, installing irrigation pipes, and building beds.

Tasks associated with repairing and replacing existing greenhouses include replacing worn or faulty bended poles, posts, fan motors, replacing broken/worn plastics and curtains. Groundwork involves digging out current beds, replacing leaking irrigation pipes and rebuilding beds.

General employment conditions and specific job requirements are detailed below.

General Conditions: Full Temporary Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for work every day that work is available for full Item 9 employment period. Worker agrees to be available for and perform the assigned work whenever work is available through full employment period.

Worker must be able to perform all duties within job description in safe manner adhering to all established field safety guidelines, practices, and procedures.

Worker must possess requisite physical strength and endurance to repeat general construction labor duties throughout workday. Worker must work at sustained pace and make good faith efforts to work efficiently as reasonable under working conditions. Position requires extensive walking, lifting, pushing, puling and repetitive stooping throughout the day.

Field work begins at assigned time shortly after daylight. Worker may be required to work in field with dew/rain and should have suitable clothing for variable weather conditions. Raincoats will be provided by employer.

Worker may never ride on agricultural equipment not designed for riding purposes. All work-related injuries must be immediately reported to Employer.

Employer conducts and worker must attend orientation on workplace rules, policies, food safety and worker safety information.

Criminal background check and drug testing: B & W Quality Growers may conduct criminal background checks at the employer's expense on all new applicants post-employment. Failure to pass criminal background check and/or drug screening is grounds for termination.
