Job description

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Harvest watermelons and remove plastic from production fields. Must be able to walk miles per day while cutting ripe watermelons and loading them onto a flat trailer. Work requires repetitive cutting and lifting. After the watermelon harvest, workers will work removing the plastic from the fields by cutting it in long stretches and then rolling it in order to load it onto a trailer for disposal. Job requires cutting, pulling, and folding of plastic which may expose worker to dust particles.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years or older. The employer may conduct a criminal background check on all new applicants for employment. Workers must have 3 months experience with harvesting watermelons. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. Cell phone can only be used during breaks, emergencies, and communicated with supervisor when needed. Duties may
vary from time to time. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Must be able to work outdoors in direct sunlight and weather conditions will be hot and humid, raining and be exposed to pollen the entire day while performing their required job duties. Workers must be able to climb, stand, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, and lift. Lifting requirement is 5-40 lbs. All tools, supplies and equipment will be
