Farm Worker

Job description

Duties may include: Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Repair and maintain farm vehicles. Clean work areas and maintain farm land. Use of disk, spray, sulfur equipment. Use shaker, sweeper and pick up machine for harvest. Use gondola driver and forklift for grape harvest. Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, and prune plants, shrubs, and trees, using gardening tools or equipment, & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).

Special Requirements

Must be 18 due to equipment use. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 60lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal due to equipment use and safety procedures.
