Job description
Essential duties and responsibilities of as seasonal Operations employee include: Responsible for the application of agronomy products and perform necessary upkeep, maintenance, and repairs of application equipment. Driving/operating a tender truck, delivering agronomy products to the certified spray and spreader operators, operating equipment in the farmers field, or delivering agronomy and seed products to the farmer’s operations. All the tender trucks are single-axle trucks with a weight rating of 16,000 to 26,000 lbs. Assist: handling of agronomy products and operations of liquid and dry plant, including loading and unloading fertilizer at liquid. Monitors inventories of bulk tanks. Help with loading and unloading of grain products for company and customer owned trucks. Assists with the train loads going out. Aids with grain monitoring and maintaining grain quality. Help with scale operations with seed, and agronomy products. Seed operations; operation of seed handling equipment, load seed tenders & delivery of seed. Soil Sampling: soil collection, safely operate ATV, probe soil in producer’s fields, bag soil & deliver soil to CVA location. Perform general maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. Employer may provide pay increases for performance and experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
This job requires a minimum of 3 months of verifiable commercial agricultural experience. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Clean driving record required. Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, frequent stooping and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must have or be able to obtain drivers license within 15 days following hire. Must be able to communicate in English. Employer-paid, post-hire, upon suspicion and post-accident drug tests will be conducted to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employer will pay overtime.
