Crane Slasher Operator

Job description

Must be able to verify a minimum of six months paid, referenced experience as a Crane/Slasher Operator. Must have valid and current class “B” drivers license to drive carrier vehicle. Must understand and have basic knowledge of electric over hydraulic functions. Must be able to identify wood species and qualities such as veneer, bird’s eye maple, saw logs, pallet stock and pulpwood. Must be able to load tree-length wood, four foot pulpwood and logs onto trucks and trailers. Must be able to select wood to be loaded by specie and size to attain a balanced compact load. Operator must have the ability to load two trucks per hour. Must be able to perform minor repairs, maintenance and adjustments to slasher and carrier. Must be able to operate a chain saw safely. Must be at least 18 years of age and be of good physical health. Must be able to withstand working in outside adverse weather conditions. Operator must comply with landowner environmental regulations.
