Job description
We need seasonal workers to assist with corn and soybean production. Employees role involves the daily operations for job duties that will include: operate tractors, sprayers, operate other farm equipment, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers, load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, load crops and unload crops, record agricultural data, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion., Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
Special Requirements
Exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employer anyone with a felony/theft criminal background as required by the workplace safety policy and company hiring practices as allow by law. Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking. Must be able to lift 75 lb. equipment. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months of farm experience.
