Job description

• Monitor workers to ensure that safety regulations are followed, warning or disciplining those who violate safety regulations.
• Will oversee quality, of work performed by the workers
• Will drive the workers to and from the work site(s)
• Will drive the workers to store and laundry mat in order for the workers to get weekly supplies and wash their clothes
• Train workers in techniques such as planting, harvesting, weeding, or insect identification and in the use of safety measures.
• Schedule work crews, equipment, or transportation for work locations.
• Drive a bus transporting workers to cultivate or harvest fields.
• Perform both supervisory and management functions for personnel workers
• Inspect work quality of the workers
• Confer with managers to determine production requirements, conditions of equipment and supplies, and work schedules.
• Prepare and maintain time or payroll reports, as well as details of personnel actions, such as performance , or disciplinary action
• Monitor operations to identify and solve problems, improve work methods, and ensure compliance with safety, company, and government regulations.
• Plan work schedules according to personnel and equipment availability
• Supervising in various crops such as, harvesting of watermelons, cut, load and pack. Also will include Bell Peppers, Eggplant, Cucumbers, Sweet Corn. and other crop activities that need to be harvested

Special Requirements

Will include prolonged walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Job is outdoors and continues in all types of weather. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug / alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or a positive test may result in immediate termination. All the testing will occur post-hire and not a part of the interview process. Negative result may be required post-hire and before commencing work. Employee must be able to lift 75 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday is able to lift and carry 75 lbs. in field. Must not hinder any other workers productivity. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination. Requires a 1 month verifiable prior work experience in the crop activities listed. Must commit to work the entire contract period.
