Job description

Duties may include: Pick variety of pears from tree using a 10–14-foot ladder; pick pears gently without pulling, squeezing or ripping from tree so they are not dropped. Handle fruit gently so it is not bruised or scuffed. Manual lining of bins with liners and bubble pads, baiting gophers in orchards, clean harvest items (buckets, etc.), weed, clean, thin, cultivate, prune, harvest field crops in orchard using various hand and power equipment; tree training and tying, follow safety rules, quality control program and food safety and good agricultural processes during harvest; pre- or post-harvest cleanup; inability to abide by these guidelines after proper training may result in termination, perform cleanup tasks on and around properties doing farm work & other related Farm Worker; Crop activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements

Must wear all required and assigned personal protective equipment at all times when required to do so. Employee must wear proper clothing and footwear
depending on the season. All footwear must be closed-toe due to safety precautions and appropriate for weather and potential slippery and muddy
conditions. It is suggested that workers wear properly fitting clothing, long sleeve shirts, work boots (with non-skid soles and good tread) and a hat to
minimize safety risks. Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.
