Job description
Shifts are eight (8) hours per day (Monday-Friday), with a one-hour lunch. Shifts are five (5) hours on Saturday. Operate tractors to prepare fields; chop weeds by hand for prolonged period of time; manual shovel work; must walk, stoop, bend, reach or kneel repetitively in planting and harvesting sugarcane and soybeans; maintain farm vehicles and equipment; field and shed sanitation duties. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Work is done in all kinds of weather. Once hired, workers may be required to take a random drug test (at no cost to the worker), as part of fitness for duty and workers safety. Drug testing relates to safety assurance in remote environment. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random drug testing may result in immediate termination from employment. Possible work hours may vary (be more or less) due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Work tools, supplies and equipment are provided at no cost. Housing provided for workers at no cost for workers who cannot reasonably return to permanent residence at end of workday.
