Job description

Water rice and check levees; check, repair and maintain fence as needed; sort cattle; clean brush; operate and repair farm equipment as needed; prepare fields; water maintenance; manual shovel work; hoe weeds; spot spray; cut grass; make hay; repair farm buildings/equipment; maintain road/shop; unload/load trucks. Job involves frequent stooping and exposure to extreme temps; must be able to lift 50 pounds; random post-hire drug screening (paid by employer); two months previous experience required; raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker employed under this job order, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including but not limited to work performance, skill, and tenure. Base hours offered is 40 per week; optional extra hours may be offered during plentiful season and may include an addition 10-40 hours of optional extra work depending on the nature of the season and crop conditions.

Special Requirements

Work is to be done for long periods of time in the field, when plants may be wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray, related chemicals, etc. may affect workers ability to perform the job. Workers must be able to perform the required work with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must wear assigned personal protective equipment when required. Must report for work daily wearing appropriate work clothing and boots or other durable foot wear. Casual clothing not permitted. Workers wearing inappropriate clothing will not be permitted to start work.
Workers will have an unpaid lunch break when working more than 5 hours. Must report to work at the designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors.
