Job description

We farm 2,300 acres of corn, cotton, and soybeans. We also have 45 acres of coastal bermuda hay that we cut and bale during the summer months. We also operate a beef cattle operation running around 30 head of heifers. We are looking for an open minded individual that is not afraid of getting dirty and working hard. In the fall employees will need to assist with our fall harvest. Employee will assist with harvest and in-season maintenance on equipment until harvest is completed. During the winter months we ship out our grain that we store in our on-site grain bins. The employee will be asked to help empty and clean grain bins as they are shipped out to prepare them for the next season. Our planting season begins in January when we start preparing the field for planting. The employee will drive a tractor and either strip-till land or turbo-till land. Once that is completed they will be asked to assist with planting by helping prepare planters for the season and keeping planters filled with seed and fertilizer. The employee will complete general farm duties as assigned. Mid-July to mid-September is our slow season since all the crops are in the fields and actively growing with not much care needed. During this time we do not need any seasonal assistance until fall harvest starts up again in September. Employees will need to operate farm trucks and other equipment to haul harvested product. Employer may provide pay increases for performance and experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion. Employee will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment.

Special Requirements

Job requires extensive walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, frequent stooping and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Employer will conduct post-hire, random drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ anyone with a felony/theft criminal background. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license. Requires 3 months experience.
