Job description
Perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain guest rooms in a resort in a clean and orderly manner. Duties may include making beds, replenishing linens and towels, removing service trays, cleaning rooms and halls, and vacuuming, mid-stay and after departure. Housekeepers must be able to push and pull carts, as well as, lift any supplies needed from them. Housekeepers can also restock linen closets, launder room items such as towels, fitted sheets, flat sheets, duvets, blankets, and pillow covers, as well as, strip rooms including removing trash to proper receptacles. Housekeepers will launder the aformentioned room items by placing item in washer with prescribed soap, detergent, water, bleach, or starch, placing items in driers for prescribed drying time, and then removing items to iron, fold, and place in the linen closet. Housekeepers must be able to maintain public restrooms, hotel lodging areas, lobbies, breakfast and meeting rooms, back-of-house areas, office and employee changing rooms, including, cleaning halls, vacuuming, cleaning equipment, supplies, and furniture, disposing of trash or waste material, mopping, dusting, sweeping, and polishing. Housekeepers must ensure that all rooms are cared for and inspected according to health and safety standards including observing precautions required to protect hotel and guest property, reporting damage or theft, and making sure there are no inadequacies. Housekeepers must replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items such as soap, toilet paper, lotion, tissue paper, shampoo and conditioner, clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, towels, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers, wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary, move furniture and remove debris from worksite, and keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Housekeepers will pick up and return valet laundry items. Housekeeping staff must be professional and attend to facilities with integrity and attention to detail.
Special Requirements
The job will require the worker to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as extensive lifting, balancing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
