Job description

Workers will perform all job specifications as instructed by the Supervisor.

Construction Laborer will perform the activities to fix worker housing under the direction of the housing manager. The position follows company policies and adheres to all safety practices and requirements. The position ensures clean work areas that are free of objects that may cause accidents.

Housing: Will assist the housing manager in basic housing maintenance and basic house repairs for workers housing. Will be required to operate power tools. Keep tools assigned clean. Follow safety guidelines provided by the manager. Assist with plumbing, electric, plywood, carpentry and other repairs. Clean equipment and facilities. May need to drive a vehicle to get to the different sites.

Work entails exposure to soil, plants, and materials. Labor most of the time conducted outdoors in variable weather conditions with large temperature fluctuations (50 to 90 degrees). Exposure to Bees, Wasps, Snakes, Chemicals, Pesticides, etc. Worker can use gloves, serrated sickle, safety glasses, pickaxe, sickle cover, dust mask and helmet (as required), shovel, and hoe, lawn mower, hand tools. Employer will comply with the personal protective equipment when needed and restrictions for the use of chemicals. Workers are required to comply with all applicable worker protection standards as communicated by Supervisors. Workers must be able to listen to and follow verbal instructions by Supervisors and understand the purpose of the required posters that are in place.

Reliable and dependable - Able to follow basic verbal and/or written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues. Ability to work overtime, as required by the job. Ability to obtain a Driver’s License

Special Requirements

The employer will request a criminal background check at the employer's expense. The first 7 working (business) days of employment are considered as an introductory period as set forth in the Company Employee Handbook. This will be time to learn and understand tasks involved in the job position. SVP Range 3 months to 1 year of preparation (4.0 to < 6.0). Previous knowledge, or experience is required of maintenance activities and work-related skills.
