Job description
This job requires a minimum of three (3) months of general farm labor experience.
The lifting requirement for this position is 60 pounds.
Asumendi Produce is a fixed-site employer who grows, harvests and packs onions.
Forklift Driver, General Farm Labor / General Maintenance, Packing shed/facility (preparing freshly harvested crops for shipment in their original, unmanufactured state - sorting, palletizing & prepare for shipping.

Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, etc.
Forklift/Hyster Driver Specifications: The Forklift driver is responsible for inspecting the forklift. Forklift drivers use knobs and levers to operate the forklift.
Forklift driver duties:
• Before use of equipment, employer will provide, at no cost to workers, forklift safety certification training in accordance with OSHA general industry safety orders.
• Duties include the moving and stacking bins, transferring, and stacking of bins full of product onto the trailer.
• The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
o Follow all safety precautions for OSHA.
o Basic Counting Skills
o Ability to move, stack, and/or dump bins, gondolas, pallets, and crates while driving forklift on various types of surfaces, such as, concrete, hard dirt, mud.
o Ability to judge distances.
o Perform light maintenance checks prior to operation such as fuel, oil, and air for tires.
o Work in a timely manner to satisfy the needs of the awaiting crew.
o Load commodities on all types of trailers, trucks, and equipment.
o Always be aware of surroundings like power lines, poles, people, and other equipment
o Wear required safety goggles/glasses to protect against dust, dirt, and debris.
o Report all mechanical problems immediately.
Special Requirements
The employer agrees that it will offer, advertise in its recruitment, and pay at least the Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR), the prevailing hourly wage rate, the prevailing piece rate, the agreed-upon collective bargaining rate, or the Federal or State minimum wage rate, in effect at the time work is performed, whichever is highest. If the worker is paid by the hour, the employer must pay this rate for every hour or portion thereof worked during a pay period. If the offered wage(s) disclosed in this clearance order is/are based on commission, bonuses, or other incentives, the employer guarantees the wage paid on a weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly basis will equal or exceed the AEWR, prevailing hourly wage or piece rate, the legal Federal or State minimum wage, or any agreed-upon collective bargaining rate, whichever is highest.
