Job description

SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for operating equipment at Landus to ensure the customer’s needs are met while maintaining clean and safe facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Drive company vehicle to obtain merchandise and transfer products.

Assist in all aspects of the elevator operations.
2. Operate payloader to assist in pile pickup or loading agronomy equipment.
3. Receiving and unloading grain operations
4. Keeping facility clean and safe by cleaning and sweeping areas
5. Grain train loading operations including opening lids and sealing train cars.
6. Operate a skid loader to clean up around the facility
7. Understand Lock out/tag out for confined space entry
8. Enter confined space with a full-time employee to clean out bins and boot pits
9. Assist in tarping piles of grain.
10. Operate trackmobile
11. Ability to take inventory

Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location
1. Apply chemicals, NH3, and fertilizer to fields via sprayer or fertilizer spreader
2. Haul products via tender trucks to the field or other locations
3. Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season with another employee
4. Operate a forklift to move products.
5. Keep facility clean and safe by cleaning and sweeping areas
6. Ability to take inventory

Assist with general maintenance of the facility
1. Diagnose and perform maintenance on equipment
2. Ability to learn and run power tools.
3. Grease chains and bearings
4. Identify issues or problems, such as when a bearing is bad or a broken wire on hazard monitoring equipment.
5. Operate a lawn mower and weed eater

Ability to operate the scale if needed. Be willing to perform these duties at assigned Landus locations as needed.
Employees may operate company owned trucks for transferring grain and fertilizer from farm to co-op and co-op to farm. Workers may drive tractors and operate designated towing vehicles (trucks, pick-ups) for operation of equipment, such as fertilizer tanks and application toolbars, to fertilize crops or transfer grain. Workers will drive vehicles on company business and may transport other workers.

Special Requirements

Ability to read & interpret safety rules in English. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization in English. Workers must have 3 months experience working with agricultural equipment. Worker must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license: Class A CDL or equivalent with air brake and double/triple endorsements to permit driving of trucks, with the tanker endorsement and an applicators license if applicable. Must comply with all applicable requirements of USDOT regulations. Must pass a post-employment road test to gauge driving ability. Employer-paid, post-hire drug testing required.
