General Farm/harvest Worker

Job description

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the harvesting of potatoes.

Duties related to the Harvesting of Potatoes will include the following: sorting and picking diseased/rotting product, rocks, and any foreign material from the harvested crop; alert equipment operator of equipment malfunctions and/or clogging of built-up product, aid the equipment operator in correct machine performance. Worker may be guiding trucks to the appropriate position to unload. Worker may be unloading/loading trucks, driving trucks, operating piling equipment, laying vent pipe in the potato storage units, and using a shovel and a wheelbarrow to haul and move dirt and debris. Other duties may include helping equipment operators disassemble and then reassemble cellar equipment as it is moved from one storage area to another. Worker will be required to keep a clean working environment in and around the storage areas.

Special Requirements

Applicants must have 20 days of agricultural work experience and provide the contact information of at least one reference who can verify experience and performance.
