Job description
White Oak Meadows is a pasture-centered, multi-species operation calling for a temporary need for workers for processing poultry and crop planting and harvesting April-December. The occupation is not year-round because the employer's need is temporary. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box 3 & 4, page 1. The workers assist in mixing feed, feeding, cleaning and raising the poultry for slaughter, along with processing eggs for consumption, and reproduction. There will be some short-day Sunday rotation to feed, water, and move poultry. Workers will perform a combination of tasks involved in the planting, cultivating and harvesting of diversified ground crops for feed. Workers will Perform seasonal tomato/garden stake. Workers will perform other farm-related duties such as barn cleaning, feeding, and seasonal rotational grazing. Workers will plant corn and other vegetables. From August through November, workers will harvest hay. In September through early December, workers will perform duties of corn harvest, tillage of vegetables and farm crop land.
The whole operation is located on the farm, or near with hay production in a few off-farm locations, and the number of poultry processed is 100% raised by White Oak Meadows. Workers will perform all facets of poultry cleaning, slaughtering and dressing in preparation for market. Workers will clean to USDA specifications. Any and all rooms and equipment including blood pans, rendering barrels, floor, toilet and walls. Workers must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Workers will: catch and move fowl to area for processing; place live poultry in cones and perform bleed-out operations; perform knife cuts; remove, separate & prepare viscera; debone and grind meat, vacuum seal, and apply labels and record weights.
Workers must be willing to work in varied weather conditions. Workers will load and unload trucks and must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently. Work requires standing, kneeling and bending for long periods of time. Beginning and ending times may vary depending on weather and crop conditions. Workers will be given 30 minutes lunch break. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English.

After hiring the employer may conduct random drug testing at the employer's expense.
Workers may require to drive. Not all workers may be requested to drive. Those that are requested will be required to possess appropriate driver's license. No one will be rejected for a position that does not have a license. All required driving will be on farm equipment and on farm property, farm roads, and public highways.
There can not be anyone who has peanut allergies working on the premises. We use peanuts and peanut products in our feed mixtures and during the winter months, one of the types of hay we feed out is peanut hay, which will have whole peanuts still attached. There is simply no way to avoid exposure and do the necessary work so a nut allergy cannot be worked around. The employer also does not allow smoking, vaping, or any other type of tobacco use anywhere on the farm, in any of the farm-provided living quarters or vehicles.
