As general laborers, the workers will supplement workers already in place by performing physical labor activities at construction sites; assist coating sprayers by performing duties requiring less skill; use, supply, or hold materials or tools and clean work area and equipment; may operate hand and power tools of various types such as chipping hammers, earth tampers, and a variety of other small equipment; may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, and clean debris and other waste materials; safely operate company equipment, help with light maintenance and cleaning, and perform tasks as directed by supervisor or crew leader in a safe and timely manner. Workers will also perform end-of-season duties such as cleaning up the worksite and removing the ice and snow. This includes, but is not limited to, removing worn, damaged, or outdated materials, clean debris from work areas by hand, or cleaning tools such as brooms, mops, buckets, vacuums, and ladders. Workers will also engage in cleaning/basic maintenance, such as removing grime, grease, or mud from the equipment, either by hand or using tools such as water hoses, brushes, sponges, and degreasers. Workers will also perform ice and snow removal tasks using tools, including shovels, ice choppers, rakes, and brooms, and may apply brine solutions to the ground as ice and snow pretreatment.

Special Requirements

Requires one (1) month of construction or related experience or training. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. for 75 yards frequently throughout the workday. This position supports all areas of business as determined by supervisor and performs home division work on interior of homes during inclement weather. While performing the duties of this job, the temporary worker is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is often required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move heavy objects. Vision abilities pertaining to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
