Job description
Temporary full-time positions available in St. Martinville, LA with LASUCA during Louisiana Sugar Harvest Season. Operate steam pressure vessels to concentrate and cook sugar containing products. Follow cooking procedures to achieve the correct combination of temperatures and pressure to concentrate and crystallize sugar. 48 hrs/wk plus OT. OT hours will vary and are not guaranteed. OT based on a single workweek. Shift work: will be required to work various 8 and 12 hour shifts during sugar harvest: (12AM 12PM; 12PM-12AM; 4:30AM-4:30PM; 4:30PM-4:30AM; 6AM-6PM; 6PM-6AM; 8AM-4PM; 4PM-12AM; 12AM 8AM). Must be willing to work overtime. Must be willing to work 7 days per week during grinding/sugar harvest. No minimum education required. No on the-job training provided LASUCA will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job. One (1) month employment experience in job offered in a raw sugar mill is the minimum required. Higher pay may be available to workers with extensive experience.

LASUCA WILL PROVIDE WORKERS AT NO CHARGE ALL TOOLS, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB. ONE (1) MONTH EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE IN JOB OFFERED IN A RAW SUGAR MILL IS THE MINIMUM REQUIRED. HIGHER PAY MAY BE AVAILABLE TO WORKERS WITH EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE.
