Job description
Ginner/Press - Workers must be able to monitor and adjust equipment and controls. Some controls maybe touch screen controls. Maintain machinery and equipment to ensure that it is clean and in safe working order. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and adjust or repair when necessary, using hand and power tools while being 30 feet in the air. Must not be afraid of heights. Replace defective parts, components, or systems. Prepare trucks for hauling according to Federal and State regulations. Worker must be able to walk, bend, and sit for long periods of time. Work is done in all kinds of weather (from extreme heat, rain, and extreme cold). Hauling time may vary due to the availability of crop, weather conditions, mechanical issues, etc. Forklift - Workers must have 3 months experience in operating tractor and driving a forklift with bale clamps. Workers will check and maintain proper fluid levels and refill propane tanks. Workers may also operate tractors and loaders. Safety training for use of farm equipment and tractors will be provided. To ensure the safety of all employees, those interested in operating machinery must be able to communicate with and adequately follow instructions given by management. Management reserves the right to restrict employees from operational duties who do not show proficiency to effectively communicate with management and may therefore place other employees' safety at risk. The ability of an employee to safely operate machinery will be left to the discretion of management. May drive workers to field and or grocery.
Special Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years or older. Employer may conduct background checks on all new applicants for employment at employer's expense. Must have three months experience in cotton gin processing. Valid Driver's License required if asked to drive vehicles. Workers may be required to work day and/or night shift. Work begins at assigned time depending on what shift, day or night. Workers must not have any physical limitations that would prevent them from climbing up or down stairs and/or ladders. Workers must be able to work all day standing up. Workers should expect periods of little/no work during harvesting time. Hours and days of work may vary due to weather conditions. Workers must have multi-limb coordination ability while standing and walking for long periods. Workers will make repetitive movements, extensive sitting, walking, lifting, repetitive movements, pushing and pulling, and stooping. The workers will need to be able to do some heavy lifting; requirement of 60 - 100 lbs.
