Job description
Workers will feed and oversee Livestock. Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Drive pick up trucks, tractors and other equipment to distribute feed to animals. Examine animals to detect illness, injury or disease and to check physical characteristics such as rate of weight gain. Mix feed, additives and medicines in prescribed portions (60%). Maintain property line fencing that surrounds grazing lands where livestock feed and water (20%) property upkeep including mowing pastures, weeding, tree trimming and sprinkler and irrigation repair on systems where livestock feed and water (20%). Workers must have 3 months verifiable experience working with cattle in a feed lot setting. This is for the safety of the workers and the animals. Generally, workers will work 12 days on and 2 days off, Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm and Saturday through Sunday from 7am to 3pm, hours may be more or less depending on how many cattle are in the yard.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.
