Job description

Agricultural Equipment Mechanics: The agricultural equipment mechanic job duties are seasonal in that the workers are only needed to repair farm equipment (vehicles, harvesting machines, etc) during the harvest season. Work Environment: Primarily in a shop environment, occasional field environment with some travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces or terrain. Essential Functions and Basic Duties: Following the supervisors instructions, the mechanics will diagnose, repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, components, electrical and fuel systems, etc. for various powered and rolling equipment such as cars, trucks, buses, farm equipment and generators. The workers will maintain appropriate service and repair records. May infrequently and sporadically engage in equipment repair in fields.

Total Hours and Work Schedule: Employer will offer no less than 48 hours of work per week, Monday – Saturday 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Workers are needed to begin work on October 1, 2023 until June 30, 2024.

F.b.9a. Additional conditions about the wage rate to be paid: Mechanics are exempt from overtime because they repair equipment that is designed to travel over open highways and public roads. If not exempt from overtime, an overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a work week. Overtime hours may vary, depending on weather or other conditions. For workers not exempt from overtime, overtime will be paid at 1.5 times the offered wage, at 28.32 per hour. Workers may be exempt from overtime and double time under the Federal Motor Carriers Act. The Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Special Requirements

Must have a valid Commercial Drivers License or equivalent, pass a required drivers license background check, and mandated drug and alcohol test. The background check and drug screening tests are post-hire and at no cost to the worker. Agricultural Equipment Mechanics must have and maintain a suitable driving record, and be insured by the employers insurance company. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a mechanic shop environment; Walk, and, and sit for prolonged periods of time; Frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach and twist; Push, pull, lift and/or carry weight up to 50 pounds. Operate assigned equipment and vehicles; Verbally communicate to exchange information. See and hear in the normal range with or without correction.
