Construction Laborers
Employer
1416 Alameda Drive
Austin, TX 78704
United States
Job description
As construction laborers, workers will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Workers may operate hand and power tools such as shovels, hammers, stone chisels, wheelbarrows, earth tampers, and picks. Workers will collect and load stone remnants for transport to worksite. Workers will also help with shoveling, carrying masonry, and loading and unloading materials for structures. Laborers will assist local masons in performing tasks related to the construction of walls including mixing batch for adobe mud bricks and assisting in the application of stucco with the use of trowels. Workers will clean and prepare job sites and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. We wish to highlight that the prior reference to “quarrying” was simply related to transportation of materials from a local quarry to the worksite. There is no stonecutting or mining related to this position, consistent with the unskilled designation that we have suggested. Additionally, the position does not require prior knowledge of masonry. Rather, we require one year of general construction experience because of the rigor of the required tasks.
Special Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for 75 yds. One year of construction or related experience.
