Job description
Duties may include: Under supervision of supervisor/crew leaders follow outlined landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage. Haul and/or spread topsoil or straw over seeded soil to hold in place. Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools such as shovels, rakes, or hand tools. Install rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences, planters, or playground equipment. Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes. Trim or pick flowers, clean and cultivate lawns, gardens, and/or flower beds using pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves & other related Landscape Laborer activities as per SOC/OES 37-3011 (onetonline.org).
Possible weekend/holiday work.
Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).
Special Requirements
Must be 18 due to state labor laws. Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Perform physical activities: such as lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials use static strength to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 50lbs. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Work is performed outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of doing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime and/or overtime.
