Job description

Feeding Cattle/Cleaning out Feed Bunks. Scraping Barns/Hauling Hard Pack Manure/Bedding. Calving/Calving Pen Preparation and Clean Out. Inspect Livestock for Illness and Injuries. Heat Detection/Heat Pen Set Up. Opening Frozen Waters/Filling Waters. Working and Vaccinating Cattle. Maintaining Exterior Fences. Fence Line Clean Up. Snow Removal/Salting Drives. Maintaining Feed Equipment. Welding Maintenance. Breeding/Breeding Pen Set Up. Receiving and Unloading of Feedlot Cattle. Feedlot Barn Maintenance and Set Up. Pregnancy Checking and Sorting Cows. General seasonal Farm Duties. Drive to town for cattle supplies on occasion.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving to town for supplies on occasion. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Must be able to lift a 75 pound calf. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
